Threads of the Tide — Walking, Weaving, and the Living Fabric of Place

Beginning with a short guided walk to Portland’s Old Port Square to Arguedas’ site-specific art installation BUOYANCY, participants will attune into the shoreline as a living map—shaped by tides, migration routes, trade, and stories stretching back thousands of years.

Back in the studio, participants will experiment with knit fabric through a process central to Arguedas’ practice: deconstructing the material by hand to reveal its fundamental threads and reflecting on the interconnected web of placemaking.
