Resurgam Expands into Old Port Square This Summer
April 22, 2026
Resurgam Music & Arts Festival will kick off in Old Port Square on Saturday, June 13.
Old Port Square will take center stage this June as the Resurgam Music & Arts Festival expands its footprint into the heart of Portland’s historic Old Port.
Produced by the Maine Academy of Modern Music (MAMM) in partnership with OTTO and other local community partners, the free music and arts festival has rocked Portland’s waterfront for the past four years, bringing together hundreds of musicians and artists, and thousands of fans, for a family-friendly celebration of Maine’s music scene.
For the first time this year, the festival is expanding into Old Port Square. A main stage will take over the heart of this four-acre mixed-use district in Portland’s Old Port. A second stage on Dana Street and the addition of local bars and venues throughout the Old Port will transform the entire neighborhood into a multi-stage celebration of Maine music. On Sunday, June 14, programming will continue at Ocean Gateway on the waterfront.
"We're thrilled to welcome Resurgam Festival to Old Port Square," said Jacob Soley, Director of Development at East Brown Cow. "Resurgam brings together artists, families, and the broader community—and having that connection come to life right in the heart of the Old Port is the type of experience we’ve always envisioned for Old Port Square. We can't wait to kick things off this June and look forward to supporting the team at MAMM."
“Resurgam is about showcasing the tremendous talent here in Maine,” said Jeff Shaw, Executive Director of MAMM. “This event gives a new generation of Maine musicians a chance to step onto big stages and share the spotlight with established artists who’ve helped shape the scene. Our students’ bands perform alongside some incredible regional acts, and the energy that creates—especially with the community gathered around—is what makes this festival so special. Expanding into the Old Port this year means even more music and more ways for people to connect with Maine’s creative spirit.”
